Twice the Trouble, Twice the Love: Our Twin Journey

Introduction

Hi there! I'm so excited to share a bit about our family's journey. After remarrying my amazing husband, Chris, we decided to try for a baby together. To our surprise (and delight!), we found out we were expecting twins! It's been quite an adventure, to say the least.

The Decision to Have More Children

I had three older kids from my first marriage, while Chris didn't have any prior children. We discussed the idea of having a child together and decided it was something we both wanted. After weighing the pros and cons, we felt it would be a beautiful way to create a new family unit.

The Tubal Reversal Process

Since I had a tubal ligation after my previous children, we knew we would need to have a tubal reversal. After doing some research, we decided to go with "A Personal Choice Tubal Reversal." The process was a bit nerve-wracking, but the staff was incredibly supportive and made us feel at ease.

The Pregnancy Journey

Being pregnant with twins was a crazy experience for me! The fatigue, the cravings, and the constant kicks were all amplified. We were both overjoyed when we found out we were having a girls. The pregnancy went smoothly overall, but there were definitely moments of worry and uncertainty.

The Birth Experience

The day that the twins came earth side was chaos, I knew I wanted a VBAC (I had one csection with the surrogacy twins in 2018) I was very determined to have one, or some can say stubborn. Well, I was able to have a VBAC and it went fast. I had Macel in the room and Melody in the O.R.

Balancing Two Families

One of the biggest challenges we've faced is balancing our two families. We're constantly trying to find ways to make everyone feel included and loved. It's important to us that our older children feel like they're a part of this new chapter in our lives. We are blessed to also have great co-parenting relationship with the older kids' dad and their stepmom.

The Joys of Twin Parenthood

Despite the challenges, the joys of twin parenthood far outweigh the difficulties. Watching our twins grow and develop is truly amazing. We love seeing their unique personalities emerge and watching them bond with each other.

Conclusion

Our journey to becoming parents of twins has been a wild ride, but we wouldn't trade it for the world. It's been a blessing to create a new family together and to experience the incredible love and joy that comes with being parents.
