Pumping and Nursing Twins: A Mom's Journey to Boost Milk Supply

Being a mom to twins is no easy feat, and I've recently been facing an additional challenge: trying to maintain my milk supply after going to the hospital for high blood pressure. The medication I was given, while necessary, unfortunately, had a negative impact on my milk production.

To combat this, I've implemented a rigorous pumping schedule. I aim to pump every two hours, even at night, to stimulate my body to produce more milk. It's been exhausting, but I've found that consistency is key.

In addition to frequent pumping, I've been incorporating lactation-friendly foods and drinks into my diet. Body Armor, a sports drink with electrolytes, has been a lifesaver. It helps keep me hydrated and provides essential nutrients supporting milk production. I've also been eating oatmeal regularly, as it's rich in fiber and can help regulate hormone levels.

While I'm doing everything I can to boost my milk supply, I've also been supplementing with formula to ensure my twins get enough nutrition. It's been a bit of a balancing act between pumping, nursing, and supplementing, but I'm grateful for the flexibility it provides.

Have you faced similar challenges with breastfeeding twins? What strategies have you found effective in boosting your milk supply?

I've recently discovered a fantastic new pump called the Cimile. It's a rechargeable hospital-grade double pump that's been a game-changer for me. The customizable stickers allow me to personalize it, and the night light is a thoughtful touch for late-night pumping sessions.

If you're looking for a reliable and efficient pump, I highly recommend giving the Cimile a try.
